Bachelor of Social Work
Bachelor of Social Work is a 4 year Undergraduate Level Program offered by Tribhuvan University under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (TU). To train generalist social workers and to meet the needs of modern Nepal as well as the rest of the world this program is introduced. This program offers 8 paper throughout 4 Year. Th credits will be given through field work, inquire about work, scholastic writing and report composing courses in different semesters. These courses goes out of the center-course to teach the students about disciplines, and a few discretionary courses within the third and fourth year.

Bachelor of Social work (BSW) is one of the most prestigious course that is dedicated to improving people’s lives. Social Worker may also help humans in coping with their relationship, in fixing own circle of relative issues, or in Enhancing the surrounding of their community. Social worker cognizes on social issues and the person problem that stand up from those social issues. The issues such as home violence, toddler abuse, unemployment, bad or no housing, disability, and extreme illness is involved. Most social people painting in companies or companies whose mission cognizes on assisting humans address certainly considered one among greater of those social issues of their lives.

Objectives of BSW
The overall objective of the courses of Bachelor of Social Work is

To impart up-to-date knowledge of the basic theories and methods of Social Work to the students along with skills developed through intensive field-work.
To provide general skilled human resources for social work in the context of Nepal. In addition, it also aims to inculcate in the students the spirit of human rights and social justice.
To produce skilled human resource through developing professional skills among the students of this discipline at a par with those of other countries.

In specific the bachelor level Social Work program aims to develop the following:

Understanding of the basic concepts of social work; principles, methods, and practice.
Carry out research to identify the problems faced by the community people and possible solutions to those problems.
Developing ability to identify major social problems in the context they are situated.
Managing and utilizing the service system to solve the problem among those affected people.
Developing self-awareness in relation to one’s own capability responding to problem situations.

SALIENT FEATURES
Duration of the Course and Examinations

The duration of the course is of four academic years. There will be a final examination, in each year, at the end of each year. Regularity of the students will be an important and primary criteria to be eligible to appear in the internal as well as final examination.

ELIGIBILITY

Students seeking admission in Bachelor of Social Work must have secured at least D+ in all subjects in Grade 11 and Grade 12. OR
passed + 2 or Intermediate or PCL from TU or from any other institution recognized by TU with a minimum of 45% marks.

FEE STRUCTURE
Fee structure for total course (NPs.) 5 to 6 Lakh.
